Variety
Gewurztraminer (pronounced gevurts-tramina) has its origins in the northeast of France being a mutation of an ancient variety called Savagnin. Gewurztraminer´s bunches have almost purple berries when ripe but the wine is almost always white. There is hardly a more aromatic variety than Gewurztraminer which boasts strong aromas of rose petals, lychee, very ripe citruses, raisins or sweet spice. The wine usually has a bigger body, higher alcohol content, slightly oily texture, lower acidity and is often made with considerable levels of residual sugar.
Tasting Notes
Very fragrant on the nose with typical aromas of lychee, rose petal, candied orange peel and Turkish delight.
Thanks to the altitude of the vineyard leading to cool picking late in the season, the grapes retain great freshness perfectly balancing its richness and flavour intensity. Our Gewurztraminer is bone dry, structured and very long. This makes it a perfect partner to various, mainly spicy food including SE Asian & Indian dishes. Rows of accolades proves that this wine is one of the best of its kind.
Optimal serving temperature: 10 – 12 °C
Food pairing: all kind of spicy Asian meals especially green curry.

Expert Reviews
92 points – Huon Hooke, The Real Review, Oct 2021
Light, bright yellow colour. Very hi-fi gewürz aromas of lychee and tropical flowers, the same flavours come rocketing through the palate which is light-bodied and aerial, without quite the density and phenolic texture one often sees with this variety. There’s a dab of sweetness which is well judged, then a clean finish.
