About the Blend
Bricolage Rouge is a traditional Topper’s Mountain red blend. Its assemblage varies every vintage because we always put together our best performers of the vintage.
The 2012 contain 60 % of Tempranillo – a popular Spanish variety bringing its freshness and ripe red berry flavours to the blend. Nebbiolo and Tannat (both 15%) are responsible for the backbone of the wine while the last contribution, 10% of north Italian Barbera adds freshness.
Tasting notes
Aromas of red cherries, ripe raspberries and mulberries demonstrate a great freshness of this wine while hints of black pepper, earthiness and coffee – signs of a development in a bottle – adds to the aroma complexity.
Rich and savoury flavours of red and black berries are balanced by pronounced acidity and strong grippy tannins. Long and fresh finish is full of black pepper and dried herbs.
The blend is with no doubt a unique wine and might not have a counterpart anywhere on the world.
Optimal serving temperature: 16 – 18 °C

This year’s blend is made up of Tempranillo, Tannat, Nebbiolo and Barbera. It’s one of those wines that builds power beyond its weight; the flavours gather speed and force without seeming to pedal all that hard. Juicy acidity, a variety of berry flavours, floral inputs and both smoky, reductive notes and spice. Many different forces produce a single delicious impression.
