“It was always my dream to produce wines that speak of their unique terroir, are an example of the best varietal expression and invite people to start a journey of discovery.”
Truly passionate about this unique piece of land at 900m altitude, Mark finished his viticultural studies in 2001 and planted the vineyard between 1999 and 2002. He initially experimented with a few varieties but found alternative varieties such as Gewurztraminer, Petit Manseng, Tempranillo, Tinta Cao, Nebbiolo, Barbera have thrived in the red, ochre terroir of the vineyard.
“My philosophy is to express the terroir of the vineyard. I feel that great wines come from great vineyards not great winemakers.”
